Introduction

The Partium Territorial Research Institute was founded in May 2015 after several months of preparation. Based on the decision of the Senate of the Partium Christian University (PCU), it has been part of the university structure since September 2015. The creation of a new high-ranking research unit aims to consciously undertake and organize regional research in the area of the Partium, and to integrate the existing interdisciplinary research capacity into one system.

The Institute has internal and external, non-PCU members from the academic sphere. In addition to the full-time members of the PCU, several researchers from the Partium region have joined the Institute from the University of Debrecen and ELTE in Hungary  and the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
